5 Pounds IS 5 Pounds

October 28, 2017

A common misconception is that 5 lbs of muscle weighs more than 5 lbs of fat...
5 pounds IS 5 pounds - no matter what you are weighing on a scale.

HOWEVER, 5 lbs of muscle takes up much less volume (or space) than 5 lbs of fat does because it is considerably more dense.

Which is why 2 people of the same weight and similar build can look vastly different based on their muscle or fat make up.

Muscle also burns more calories per pound of body weight than fat does.
And muscles require a different macronutrient intake to perform properly.

Check out the article below, it has some good points..... like ditch that scale and get a Personal Trainer.
